Job Description

Our client is a regional refining and marketing company serving commercial customers in Eastern Canada and New England. 

The Sales Representative position is a field sales role based out of the Central NH area (Concord, Lincoln, Rochester, Lakes area).  The primary responsibilities of this role are to acquire new Commercial accounts as well as:

  • Develop an understanding of an assigned territory that includes opportunities for growth, product penetration, and threats from competitors and alternative fuels
  • Develop a presence in the territory by representing the company in business and community events
  • Develop a strong internal referral network that includes drivers, installers, and other professionals
  • Develop a strong external referral network through participation in business events such as trade shows, professional associations, and community events
  • Prospect for new customers by utilizing target account lists, customer referrals, and cold calls
  • Process suspects pre-loaded into the sales funnel
  • Manage the execution of sales opportunities (i.e. new account acquisition, cross/up-sell)
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of sales opportunities (i.e. new account acquisition and cross/up selling opportunities
  • Participate in sales management meetings
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
Qualifications:
  • University degree would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of petroleum products (i.e., heating oil, diesel, gasoline, and propane) a plus but not required
  • Strong business network
  • The ability to engage senior-level personnel in a consultative approach to understand their needs
  • The ability to align and influence internal stakeholders around opportunities
  • The ability to manage opportunities to a successful close
  • Willingness to travel frequently (mostly windshield time)
  • Management of a sales funnel
