Job Description

Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science (preferred) or equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years using continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Experience with Chef and Jenkins is a plus.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with build automation systems
  • Web application setup and deployment in a Microsoft environment.
  • Experience with source control systems.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, batch programming and VMWare PowerCLI.
  • Experience with automated provisioning systems.
  • Experience with automation of HP, Cisco and VMWare.
Proficiency with MS Office Applications

Job Summary
Our Client is currently seeking a Systems Administrator - IT Automation to maintain all aspects of the automated build process of the company's IT infrastructure.  This role will be responsible for version control, building of new and tearing down of old environments in development, test and production environments, advancing of automation abilities, and monitoring of systems to detect configuration drift.  This position will work directly with our Software Development Build and Deploy Engineer to further company ability to deliver value to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build Automation:
    • Manage version control of our environments.
    • Build new IT infrastructure in multiple environments to support the release cycle of our products.
    • Partner with software developers, testers, infrastructure teams, and product managers to ensure releases are delivered with a repeatable and auditable process.
    • Define, implement, and enforce strong build, deployment and configuration management processes for development, testing, and production systems.
    • Make recommendations on specific aspects of build and deployment, and continuously strive towards improvements in process and productivity through technology improvements.
  • Release Management:
    • Coordinate and manage multiple, complex application releases across different software platforms and development teams.
    • Track and coordinate with product owners and release managers on release milestones and related dependencies.
    • Partner with IT operations team to ensure smooth deployments into the multiple environments.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and correct issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for developers and IT for build and deploy automation issues.
  • Identify and sponsor improvements to organizational standards.
