Sales Engineer –  Business Development Professional
HQ location:  Near Greater Philadelphia PA

An opportunity for a mid-career Technical Sales professional to join a thriving well-established manufacturing company as they strive to increase market share.  New Business Development will be a primary objective.  Water filtration systems and adsorption products are the primary focus.

The work:
Provide Technical Support to customers who use our line of industrial and municipal water purification systems and support marketing efforts to develop new customers.  Using a consultative sales approach, you’ll build relationships with existing customers.  With strong account leadership, you will also convert strategic competitive accounts and sell new technologies to current customers.  Expect 25 - 45% travel mostly domestic with occasional international trips.
  • Call on customers and provide technical support. 
  • Attend Trade Shows and participate in Online Marketing activities
  • Respond to inquiries and prepare technical assessments and quotes.  This will include sample testing and feasibility assessments. 
  • In high demand areas, develop and support distribution networks.Act as the Product Technical Liaison (product manager) for these networks.
  • Provide demand forecasts to the manufacturing team and sales forecasts to the management team. 
Applicant Qualifications:
  • B.S. Engineering or Chemistry are most likely - Technical degree required for customer service – 
  • 5 – 15 years of experience in water treatment and/or liquid filtration sales
    • Best if applications include Ground Water, Drinking Water, or Utilities
  • Excellent communication skills with a history of sales presentations
    • Even better if this person has worked with sales networks (channel sales)
  • Experience with business travel and customer relationship building (A combination farmer-hunter)
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the USA without restrictions.
