Job Summary....

In this role, you will be part of a small cohesive team in the Logistics/Operations Division. The individual hired for this role develops and implements new processes and manages Logistics projects to completion. The Project Manager also provides direction and leads projects to enable the achievement of business goals.  In this position, you will be responsible for gathering project / customer requirements and manage communication with Sales, Account Managers, Operations Managers, Senior Management, and customers, acting as the primary point of contact. You need to have good project management experience and a strong systems background. 


What you’ll do in this key role...

  • Establish clear project goals and ensure attainment.
  • Lead multiple projects concurrently.
  • Manage communication flow interdepartmentally, with peers, with senior management.  Facilitate process improvement, including workflow, systems, and physical infrastructure.
  • Work cross-functionally to generate new concepts and to increase idea development.
  • Determine requirements for project team resources and recommends personnel.
  • Seek cost saving opportunities, and control project costs to budget.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Utilize project management tools to document timelines, progress, and risks.
  • Define project budgets and timelines and ensure completion of initiatives within agreed upon budgets and timeframes.
  • Present new concepts to Senior Management.
  • Establish relationships with customers; work with customers to understand their needs and communicate these needs to pertinent departments. Interface with teams to develop, implement and track customer solutions.
  • Stay current with technology and trends in the industry.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus 7 years of Operations or Logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or 10 years of Operations or Logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. 
  • Demonstrated project management skills/experience. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel by air and car when necessary.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience effectively presenting information to senior management.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Software at an intermediate level.
  • Experience maintaining professional and cooperative relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Experience performing under heavy demands with low error ratio.
  • Experience performing detail oriented tasks; recognizing and correcting discrepancies.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experienced in multi-tasking.
  • Ability and willingness to utilize discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Customer driven.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Good systems experience (e.g. SAP, OTM, JD Edwards, etc...)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years Operations or Logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. 
  • MBA/Master's degree.
  • Experience articulating a strategic vision with supporting and achievable objectives to realize the desired end state.
  • Experience implementing continued improvement processes and methodologies throughout an organization.
  • Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting various reports and documents. 
  • Skilled in presenting issues clearly and concisely; generating accurate analysis, with a good understanding of the cause and effect that will occur with each alternative solution both inside and outside supplier development.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid and concise conclusions and recommendations. 
  • Skilled in interpreting extensive variety of data related to various situations dealing with both abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with working with all levels and functions within the company.
    Experience communicating with all levels of an organization (to include senior leadership).
  • Demonstrated team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Good systems experience (e.g. SAP, OTM, JD Edwards, etc...)
