Job Description
Plan, organize, lead, and control the activities of Production Supervisors and their direct reports to ensure production operations reach and sustain a globally competitive position and achieve short-term and long-term business plan goals. The primary focus is the on-time delivery of quality product at or below estimated cost. Lead by example and set a high standard of performance for self and those people he/she leads.  An exceptionally high level of effective cross-functional collaboration is required. 
 
  • Works closely with all companies associates to meet goals and objectives.  A high level of collaboration coupled with decisiveness is critical.
  • Establishes goals and objectives for production supervisors and other production team members to meet plant metrics.
  • Closely monitors plant performance against plant metrics and use the metrics as a tool for continuous improvement. 
  • Coaches production supervisors on performance and development needs.  Coordinates and directs the activities of supervisors to assure complete and accurate dissemination of information.
  • Recommend termination of employment, transfer, promotion, trains on technical aspects of the job; review employees performance and efficiency and recommends/approve wage increases.  Enforce company policies and progressive corrective action procedures.
  • Applies problem-solving methods, in conjunction with Engineering to resolve process deficiencies, operational problems, and nonconforming issues.
  • Plans appropriate resources to meet production needs.
  • Ensures manufacturing employees have training plans toward certification and operate within quality guidelines.
  • Participates in the development of New Program Launch (NPL) production, methods, approval and implementation of methods to ensure process meets quality and job standards.
  • Applies continuous improvement methods to improve machine utilization in areas such as tool set-up/teardown and start-up in conjunction with Engineering.
  • Coordinates movement of parts and materials to ensure smooth material flow.  Works closely with production planning to achieve on-time delivery to customers based on established schedules.
  • Establishes and enforces housekeeping guidelines to promote quality of product and a safe, organized working environment. 
  • Monitors process performance against standards and correct variances in a timely manner.  Ensures efficient use of resin, inserts, manpower, equipment, and supplies.
  • Approves employee time records and make adjustments when necessary.
  • Applies Guiding Principles while carrying out job responsibilities.
EDUCATION LEVEL
High School or GED plus two years minimum of advanced education and/or specialized training preferably in business, manufacturing or engineering.  BS degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
JOB TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five years leadership responsibilities in manufacturing industry.

  10. Cost accounting.
  11. Plastic and engineering experience.
  12. ISO/TS standards.
