Job Description
Plant Process Engineer Summary:
The Process Engineer will provide technical support for the manufacturing departments.  They will work in a team oriented environment to reduce scrap, improve quality, safety, etc.  They will work with operations, quality, materials, and other support departments to meet all targeted plant goals. Engineering functions may include leading Kaizen events, utilizing Lean practices to identify and eliminate waste. Successful candidate must be hands-on and be able to work with production associates.
 

Plant Process Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for plant layouts, process documents, work standards as well as equipment justification and implementation.
  • Facilitate employee involvement activities (operator training on new equipment, participation in 8-D meetings).
  • Develop assembly aids and fixtures.
  • Provide production run off during the buy-off of the new equipment.
  • Provide equipment specifications.
  • Document internal cost reductions.
  • Create preliminary Standard Operating Procedure for new equipment with the assistance of Quality and Manufacturing.
  • Complete cycle time studies, line balancing and manning recommendations at the specified frequency.
  • Support trial builds for VA/VE's, engineering changes, Kaizen improvements.
  • Evaluate on-line raw material requirements.
  • Supports manufacturing by developing the process and line balancing for manufacturing facility. 
  • Follows safety regulations and enforces compliance with company safety rules and regulations. 

Plant Process Engineer Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • Must have working experience in a manufacturing assembly facility.
  • Strong proficiency with computer skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Experience in capital equipment specification is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills. 
  • Proposes, supports, and leads implementation of corrective action.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. 
  • Results oriented approach.
