Job Description

As a Plant Manger you are responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of all manufacturing, quality, safety and personnel at the manufacturing facility.

We are looking for an experienced manger working with metal and PVC piping.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement business strategies at the manufacturing location.
  • Implement manufacturing techniques to improve productivity and safety.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules that include quality guidelines and project milestone budgets (material and labor).
  • Interface with Company engineers, sales force, Purchasing, Human Resources and accounting personnel regarding facility issues, quotes and orders.
  • Oversee all employee activities which include hiring, training, performance appraisal management and performance issues.
  • Oversee work procedures and measure and evaluate productivity.
  • Evaluate and maintain appropriate levels of inventory while responsible for on-time shipment.
  • Promote teamwork within the plant and with other plants.
  • Support supervisory training initiatives and provide coaching and career development support to all employees.
  • Oversees budget for operating costs and reviews and controls expenditures at the facility.
  • Manage CIP efforts and insure that all employees are trained in and utilizing CIP tools.
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, and operations data to determine facility progress toward established goals and objectives.
  • Present business unit operations status.
  • Understand and comply with all HSE, Compliance and other Company Policies.
  • Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager within the physical constraints of the position.Basic Function

  • Possess strong coaching, motivation and leadership skills
  • Five to ten years management experience in a manufacturing environment, encompassing all aspects of manufacturing
  • Experience in leading/directing efforts of a manufacturing team
  • Scheduling, management and good communication skills
  • Ability to establish, track, and control costs of goods and budgetary expenditures
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or issues from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the general business community
  • Basic computer knowledge to include SAP
  • Knowledge of CIP (Continuous Improvement Process)
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, customers, sales force and suppliers
