O.D. Tool Grinder

Company is an ISO9001 certified company with over 100 years of combined experience within the carbide cutting tool industry. We provide our customers with a unique combination of advanced substrates, precise geometries and quality coatings.

Associate is responsible for the production, inspection, and processing of products produced in the facility. This position will work with advanced CNC and Manual O.D. grinders: Trutech and Dedtru, to create high quality, extremely precise, standard and technically advanced special, prototype, and modified cutting tools. 

•    Responsible for maintaining product production goals and quality
•    Set-up and assess machine operations: movement of parts, gauges, dials, and machine sounds to determine optimal performance
•    Troubleshoot equipment: modify programming parameters to resolve any operational problems
•    Interpreting drawings, item attributes, and following routings
•    Performs in process inspections of tools produced as required and receives quality verification from the QC team
•    Maintains product specifications by utilizing the appropriate inspection equipment as required
•    Maintains and adjusts machine feeds and speeds and performs routine maintenance and lubrication as required 
•    Have knowledge of specifications and proper use of diamond wheels, including the ability to properly dress, maintain, and balance wheels as required
•    Able to use machine specific software programs as required
•    Troubleshoot and correct set up problems and have full knowledge of all tooling required
•    Complete all job related paperwork and shop floor data collection accurately
•    Adhere to all aspects of the Quality Management System
•    Adheres to safe operating procedures as required by specific standards related to the equipment

Managing Processes, Process Improvement, Controls and Instrumentation, Strategic Planning, Dealing with Complexity, Cutting Tool Manufacturing

High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and effectively communicate in English

•    Mechanical background or aptitude is strongly desired
•    Tru-Tech and Dedtru experience most highly preferred
•    Ability to learn quickly and work in a high paced environment
•    Analytical and data processing capabilities are required
•    Must have outstanding time management and organizational skills
•    Good computer skills are required, including an understanding of documentation 
•    Knowledge of Microsoft products and basic computer software required

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Substantial work with computer screens and inspection equipment is required
The work environment is a manufacturing environment subject to: high noise levels, exposure to cutting fluids, airborne coolants, cutting and lubrication oils. Must have the ability to work competently under deadline conditions and have the ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment. 

Starting wage will be reflective of candidates’ experience
