MARKET SEGMENT SALES MANAGER – INDUSTRIAL/UTILITY T&D/GENSET (HOME OFFICE)

Our client has been a pioneer in the electric industry, manufacturing control and protective devices for generators, motors, and other prime movers. They serve the electric power industry with solid state relays for feeder, transmission, bus, transformer, generator and motor protection for any application. Their utility grade and industrial grade relays offer high accuracy, low burden, flexibility, and low maintenance and their microprocessor based relays combine multifunction protection with control, metering, data acquisition, and networked communications.

JOB SUMMARY: Working from one's home office, manage the sale of company products in the market segment and sales territories assigned. Manages and directs the selection and development of independent manufacturer's rep organizations and direct sales personnel required to support sales in the assigned market segment and sales territories.

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales – PSG

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
*Prepare sales plans to support and implement marketing strategies.
*Prepare and submit sales budget and oversee all sales costs.
*Provide sales forecasts and participate in the determination of market potential in the assigned market segment.
*Obtain and report marketing information for potential new products in the assigned market segment.
*Attend and assist in trade organization functions as required.
*Maintain contacts with major accounts in the assigned market segment.
*Monitor the results of direct sales personnel and/or independent manufacturer's rep organizations to provide effective sales coverage.
*Provide necessary direction and training to direct sales personnel and/or independent manufacturer's rep organizations on appropriate company products, selling techniques, account strategies, and negotiating.
*Recruit, select, and terminate all sales personnel, as required.
*Coordinate and/or negotiate all purchase agreements within the assigned market segment and sales territories.
*Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
*Bachelor’s degree in related field required
*Working knowledge of power systems as it pertains to the assigned market segment.
*Minimum of 5 years experience in account sales or marketing.  Customer base includes primarily industrial, utility transmission and distribution (T&D) and genset accounts.
*Previous experience working with independent Factory Sales Representatives preferred.

*Travel up to 50% in the assigned territories (Eastern U.S. & Canada - East of the Mississippi River)
