Job Description

Heavy industry client in West Michigan is looking for a Maintenance and Reliability Project Engineer to coordinate engineering services on all projects.  Someone who's expertise and interests lies with efficiently and effectively leading the organization from concept to completion with regards to maintenance and reliability projects.

Job Description:
The position of Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving the reliability (Plant Uptime) of plant equipment and systems through preventative maintenance planning. This position will develop procedures for determining various methods to collect and analyze data, develop procedures for testing and develop procedures or changes to permanently eliminate repeat failures. Solid math, computer, and problem solving skills are required. Perform Root Cause Analysis and develop procedures and recommendations for permanent elimination of problems. Develop tools and techniques to analyze and develop cost effective preventive maintenance procedures. Develop and implement standards based repair procedures, documenting repairs, developing and implementing vendor standards. Identify, develop, and implement modifications that reduce the time required to repair/replace equipment. Work with vendors and OEM's to improve the skills of maintenance personnel and inspection routines. Lead equipment performance reviews to assure actions are identified and executed addressing equipment performance gaps.

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree plus 3 years relevant experience preferred or college and five years combined experience in related areas. Good overall mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation aptitude with Foundry experience or other heavy manufacturing background necessary. Success in this position requires a strong communicator with the ability to mentor and instruct staff, foster an environment for open communication/feedback and establish accountability. Must possess MS Word, Excel, Outlook skills and be able to learn our internal manufacturing systems and controls.
