Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree and CPA or JD required.
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience with an accounting firm, including 3+ years of International Corporate Tax experience.
  • Experience with subchapter C and K concepts.
  • Experience with US international tax concepts, such as foreign tax credits, subpart F, cross-border reorganizations, inversions, foreign currency rules, dual consolidated losses, treaty analysis, FIRPTA, FACTA, etc., including ability to analyze fact patterns to apply rules in these areas and instruct others.
  • Experience with US federal international compliance (Forms 5471, 926, 8865, 8858, 5472, etc.).
  • Experience with transaction work, i.e. diligence review/documentation and transaction modelling.
  • Leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills while being a natural facilitator.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of various client service teams, focusing on cross-border tax matters.
  • Be an expert in US federal international tax matters and basic corporate/partnership concepts.
  • Participate in identifying and executing on value-added planning opportunities, leading project teams, and communicating with clients, foreign offices, and internal engagement teams.
  • Prepare and review MS Excel based/models of complex tax computations, including projections and modelling of alternative scenarios.
  • Perform legal analysis to evaluate a tax issue, find and support conclusions, and document technical memoranda.
  • Conduct research on various tax issues.
  • Supervise Senior Associates, Experienced Associates, and Associates.
  • Participate in professional growth and development of Associates and Senior Associates.
