As an Automation Engineer, your work will involve the design, development, testing, and deployment of the company's technology within industrial automation applications. A typical day will include working with engineers on developing and testing algorithms, integrating innovative technologies into robotics, and collaborating with industry partners to apply those technologies to their businesses. This role will require you to jump in and be hands on; actively developing and implementing solutions.

Automation Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop technologies that utilize the company's technologies in robotics and automation applications
  • Collaborate with members of the technology team to design and develop software
  • Interact with programmers to identify and develop new software services for industrial automation
  • Provide mentoring to junior engineers
  • Assess the performance of new technologies to recommend and implement future design improvements, and provide expertise on design for manufacturing and standardization specifications for industrial automation
  • Work to conceive, develop, and build new industrial automation solutions
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in automation engineering
  • Proven track record of designing, developing, and testing methods that improve industrial automation
  • Experience in robotics including controls and state estimation (e.g., Kalman Filtering)
  • Computer programming skills in languages such as C\C++, Python, Octave, or Matlab
  • A proven track record of hands-on technology experience and the motivation to continually invent technologies
  • Effective communication skills including presenting results and recommendations to the company and its customers
  • Ability to rapidly tackle challenging technical problems with minimal supervision
  • The motivation to continually improve technology and work at a fast-paced company
  • Experience in mechatronics, electronics, and/or simple mechanical design
