Job Description
 
Great opportunity to join global leader, with responsibility for Greenhouse Operations Management and supporting Breeding projects. Requires degree and 3+ years experience in operation and maintenance of modern greenhouses, greenhouse controls and research laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities:
 
--- Responsible for operation and maintenance of greenhouses, greenhouse controls and seed research equipment.
--- Supporting efforts to maintain seed stewardship principles of inventory, and performing tasks that include but are not limited to: seeding, planting, spraying, threshing and data collection.
--- Managing, coaching and training of third-party contract labor to ensure accurate results are achieved.
--- Responsible for greenhouse irrigation management; arrange for pesticide and fertilizer applications.
--- On-call for greenhouse emergencies or unscheduled work based on business needs or weather conditions (including weekends).
--- Input and maintain data in functional data system.
--- Performing all tasks and behaving in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety and stewardship related company policies and practices, including completing all required company training courses and attending local safety meetings.
--- Effectively communicating on a daily with peers and supervisor regarding the status of projects and work activities.
--- Functioning as an integral member of a team responsible for seeding, planting, growing, harvesting and packaging of vegetable trials and vegetable breeding nurseries.

Qualifications:

--- B.S. degree in Agronomy,  Agriculture or related discipline required with 3+ years relevant agriculture experience in operating and maintaining greenhouses, greenhouse controls and greenhouse equipment.
--- Clear understanding of the practices and procedures that affect trial data precision and accuracy.
--- Understand and use of modern agronomic practices and plant physiology and breeding is desirable..
--- Must be able to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
--- Must be able to Travel – 10% and seasonal travel to off-station trialing locations
