Finishing Department Manager
The Finishing Department Manager monitors the day-to-day operations of the Finishing Area. You will also be responsible for Finishing Area performance and Plant improvement plans, department maintenance, and goals.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finishing Department Manager works with the Production Scheduling Department to meet compliance with the production schedule and workload to meet order requirements established by corporate objectives.
You will also manage and control waste reduction, utilize (interview, train, motivate, direct, etc.) personnel to their maximum potential with regard to their personal well-being (job satisfaction, safety, morale, etc.) Plan, organize and meet the Finishing Area budget, and explain variances where appropriate.
You will interface with other departments and other production staff to resolve problems, concerns, and other production matters.
Maintain quality levels of raw materials and operations.
Maintain and control inventory as well as monitors Finishing Area employee attendance and labor sheets.
Maintain Finishing Area activities in accordance with corporate policies and health and safety regulations.
Review personnel problems and recommend corrective action to plant and corporate management.
Insure Finishing Area facilities are in top working order.
Develop subordinates for additional responsibilities.
Maintain quality of finished product and insures it meets customer needs.
Provide capacity analysis which compares production plans to area capacity.
Evaluate and report on new material and new product performance.
Maintain Department Quality System to follow the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), which are set forth in the training manual.
Know and maintain respective role in Food Safety.
Manages maintenance engineering, special maintenance problems and special technical problems associated with production and other plant areas.
Prepare and coordinate capital forecast for all areas of plant.
Coordinate and provide liaison for environmental activities of plant. Coordinates (initiate, estimate, design, etc.) miscellaneous minor property projects and construction contracts for plant.
