Job Description:
We are looking to add to our team an Assembly Engineer with experience in Assemblies production experience in automotive tier 1 metal stamping and assemblies process environments within large scale manufacturing plant locations with an emphasis on maximizing productivity while showing continuous improvement in scrap, defects, safety and quality objectives in a team-based environment.

This position will ensure that the production lines are running efficiently at all times with focus on production line layout improvements, tooling, jigs and fixturing requirements, cost savings projects, design for manufacturability and continuous lean initiatives and the continuous improvement of assembly operations
Responsibilities and Requirements: 
  • Analyze and improve defects on the line; continuous analysis and improvements to line lay out
  • Analyze production process to improve scrap, quality, safety, risk and defects
  • Coordination with engineering teams to deploy new projects to improve upon plant processes
  • Work with operators and workers on production and assembly methods to improve processes
  • Make constant improvements for tools, fixtures, jigs, machines, automation in order to improve upon design for manufacturability
  • Analyze operations to set standard working time and identify capacity improvements
  • Balance line analysis for cycle time, machine hours, output – etc
  • Coordination with engineers / leaders to develop maintenance plans for equipment and machines to make sure production runs smooth and efficient
  • Participate in standardizing work parts and materials for production and in standardizing work methods and processes for production
  • Coordination with Supervisors and Line Leaders on continuous improvement lean initiatives
  • Involved in Product launch initiatives
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
  • BS University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with specific experience working to improve production processes; prefer experience in automotive tier 1 industries and assembly environments but open
  • Experience with the improvements for tools, fixtures, jigs, machines, automation in order to improve upon design for manufacturability
  • Production process control experience and with demonstrated improvement to quality, scrap, downtime and output
  • Experience working with engineering teams on process improvement initiatives, project management and product launch programs
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methods and applications
  • Well trained and having good knowledge of process analysis and improvement tools
  • CAD drawing understanding
  • Knowledge of ISO / TS systems
