Job Description
Job Title:  Application Engineer, Bender Department:  Bender Applications FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 
Position Description Summary: Under direct supervision of the Bender Product Manager, analyzes the customer’s application requirements and selects the equipment that would best fit their needs.  Conducts demonstrations and applications tests and studies on behalf of customers in bender applications.  Provides advanced technical support to Regional Managers and Product Manager. Essential Function(s) of the Position: 1. Analyzes customer drawings to determine the feasibility of an application utilizing company product offerings. 2. Understands technical issues to the point of being able to make recommendations and/or refer the matter to a subject expert. 3. Evaluates and conducts time studies to determine the most effective machine solution for the customer in a timely fashion.  4. Performs a thorough application analysis; recommends a best fit bender solution for the customer. 5. Conducts customer run-off acceptance tests at the Wixom, MI location.   6. Maintains Par Levels of Demonstration materials and orders additional material when necessary. 7. Supports the Sales Manager by providing advanced technical counsel and solutions to the customer’s specific technical issue.   8. Conducts bender demonstrations for customers at the Wixom, MI location.  9. Maintains a positive rapport and business relationship with customers by providing outstanding customer service. 10. Travel to Italy 1-2 times per year to have continual training in software and hardware of Adige/Adige SYS products.  11. Other activities to assist Regional Managers as required by Sales Manager.

Education and Experience: Associates Degree in a Technical field. Prior experience or equivalent military training may be substituted for a degree. 
At least three years of bending experience across multiple applications including bender setup, bender service, bender maintenance experience, or CNC bender part programming.  
Licensing/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License No more than two (2) points on a driving record within a three (3) year period 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough understanding of bending tool designs and how they apply to specific machine and part applications. Thorough knowledge and understanding of statistical evaluations. Thorough knowledge and understanding of robotic cell integration.   Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Able to effectively use the Internet Highly organized. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must have excellent time management skills. Able to effectively work with all levels of team members and all types of customer personalities.   Fluent in Italian (preferred). 
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Vehicles Used: General office equipment, including, computers, printers, fax machines and telephones.

The incumbent works primarily in a manufacturing facility where the noise level may be moderate to loud.  May occasionally work in an office environment.   
The position requires approximately 50% travel.  Travel may be local or out of State as required.
