Job Description
Team Leader – Dark Meat Debone
 
Responsibilities:  This is a 3rd Shift Team Leader/Supervisor position in Dark Meat Debone using the FoodMate Dark Meat Deboning System.
The purpose of a Team Leader is to handle the day-to-say supervision of associates to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner, and for promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the production group.  Specific responsibilities include:
•             Train, direct, and develop subordinates to meet operating, safety and quality requirements within the department/area.
•             Supervise production staff to ensure product quality and integrity, and ensure all finished product meets or exceeds customer requirements.
•             Create and maintain an environment that is conducive to retaining associates. Consistently administer company policies and procedures.
•             Create and implements, with management approval, new ideas and methods to improve production efficiencies, CSI, SI, and Safety Scorecard.
•             Support the 3P’s. People - Turnover, Safety, Associate Engagement; Product – Quality and consistency of products; Profitability – Contributes to achievement of Key Initiatives.
 
Requirements: BS in Food or Animal Science (preferred but not required) plus at least 5 years of supervision in a food processing plant.  Specific requirements include:
  • Poultry processing experience
  • Leadership – a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.
  • Planning – an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 to 3 year time span.
  • Management – ability to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule.
  • Process Development – the ability to develop protocols and processes and deploy said processes.
  • Associate Development – ability to supervise and recognized training needs for the operation as well as the associates and the willingness to support those needs and develop associates.
  • Communication – ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and a commitment to excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Team Building – knowledge of and a commitment to Team performance, effective coaching and demonstrated skills of a strong team player.
  • Safety – ability, knowledge and commitment to put safety of associates above everything else while achieving goals.
